The AlCan roads continued to be positively lunar, the way back every bit as murderously potholed as the way up. With each bounce and jostle, Miracle winced in pain and I apologized—to her, to the bus, to Jolene, to the cars stacked up behind us. At least we had some good seats.

Tok: Tim, Maria, and Randy
I noticed the engine acting a little funny when we pulled into Anchorage a couple weeks ago; it would diesel when I shut it off and when I turned it on, it took a few cranks to turn over. Our ever-trusty hometown VW guru, Norm, said it might be points. Fortunately, before heading north onContinue reading “Tok: Tim, Maria, and Randy”
Podcast: Sally
This episode is really special to me. When Miracle and I started out on our 49 state adventure, we received a lot of encouragement. But then I got a message from a woman I used to work with at children’s services some fifteen plus years ago. Her name is Sally Doyle. Even though we workedContinue reading “Podcast: Sally”
Alaska

Season 6 is launched!
Another 10,000 miles, another season of So You Owned a VW Bus—the podcast fueled by the stories of VW Bus, Vanagon, and yeah, even the occasional Eurovan driver. This season we talked with a young couple who lived in their Syncro in the desert of Utah; the owner of the world’s first mountain bike shuttleContinue reading “Season 6 is launched!”
Podcast: Detour #2
We heard from Xavier at the end of season 5 and all of his adventures in his VW bus. But did you ever wonder how we became a chef? We did. The story is amazing.
Victoria
We loved this city.
Podcast: Detour #1
We’ve added some bonus episodes called Detours. In each detour we veer off the VW route and delve into some of the material from past interviews was left on the cutting room floor. In this episode we talk about people spelling their names and that time Nellie had a close encounter with a horse.
