Healthcare on the road

You’ve all gotten to see the good stuff on the blog—food reviews and pictures of wineries and oceans and mountains and our dear sweet pup, Jolene. Can we take a break from Instagram-worthy stuff to talk about healthcare? I know it’s not as much fun, but it’s worth talking about.

Maine, Part 1

Unfortunately, the exhaust system weld job we got in New York did not hold up. As we trolled our way through these quaint little seaside towns it sounded like I was riding the fifth horse of the apocalypse—the one that sounds like one of those pickup trucks with a smokestack and flags for a candidateContinue reading “Maine, Part 1”

New Hampshire in review

It was an all-to-brief stay in New Hampshire as we lay tracks toward the Maine coast. While the green rounded peaks of Vermont are serene, the White Mountains of New Hampshire are dramatic and rugged and call for adventure. Or at least a rainy day hike to see some waterfalls.

Vermont in review

Miracle says she fell in love with me in Vermont. It was the first big trip we took—a meandering week-long excursion into the lower portion of the Green Mountain State. We drive the Prius down the interstate and stayed in an AirBnB. My excuse for going was that I wanted to look at tiny homes.Continue reading “Vermont in review”

Western Massachusetts: I love them apples

Massachusetts proves to be simply hospitable—almost beyond belief. We boogied about of the Boston area on Route 2, bound for the Amherst area. He invented/stole his idea for library classification whilst at Amherst College back in the dayContinue reading “Western Massachusetts: I love them apples”

Eastern Massachusetts in review

We had a splendid time in Massachusetts. Originally we were going to stick to the western side of the state because I have huge anxieties about driving Adie anywhere near Boston. But Miracle really wanted to see Salem and all of its witchiness. After creating a circuitous route that would avoid the most stressful partsContinue reading “Eastern Massachusetts in review”

Piperbus Auto

I wrote about Piperbus briefly in a post earlier this week. Let me just say that I was throughly pleased with Tracy’s attention to my bus. After we did our interview, she said she would give Adie the once-over. She quickly caught a few problems, including a major oil leak. Within a few minutes, sheContinue reading “Piperbus Auto”

Review: Window Dressings

Granted, the Bay Window VW Bus is far from the fishbowl that is the 23-Window Bus; however, privacy whilst camping is nearly impossible without window dressings of some type. At this point, I have met many veedubbers who have fashioned some creative ways to keep their private time private. Being the prude/fashionista/pragmatist that I am,Continue reading “Review: Window Dressings”
